The Executive Chairman of Kagarko Local Government Area in Kaduna State, Hon. Nasara Rabo, has commended and rewarded Divisional Police Officer Idris Ibrahim with the sum of N1 million, News About Nigeria reports.
This comes in recognition of DPO Ibrahim’s integrity and dedication to justice, as he rejected a bribe offered by a suspected kidnapper to obstruct an ongoing investigation.
In a letter of recommendation issued on Monday, Chairman Nasara Rabo disclosed that DPO Idris Ibrahim arrested a kidnapper on January 22, 2024, who attempted to compromise the investigation with a bribe.
However, the police officer refused the bribe and insisted on allowing the law to take its full course.
Rabo said he was proud of the DPO’s actions, stating that it not only made the Nigeria Police Force proud but also contributed to the fight against insecurity in Kagarko Local Government Area, Kaduna State, and Nigeria as a whole.
To acknowledge and appreciate this dedication, the chairman presented a formal letter of commendation and a token gift of one million naira to DPO Idris Ibrahim.
The chairman used the occasion to urge all police personnel in the state to uphold the ethics of their profession by resisting compromises in the discharge of their duties.
He concluded by praying that Almighty God continues to encourage and support DPO Ibrahim in his efforts to protect the lives and properties of the Nigerian people.
In a related development in January, the Federal Capital Territory Police Command successfully rescued the Al-Kadriyar sisters and other abducted victims from a bandits’ den in Kajuru forest, Kaduna State.
A joint team of policemen and soldiers executed the operation, rescuing the 23 people abducted on January 2, 2024, in the Zuma 1 area of Kawu, Bwari Area Council of Abuja.
All rescued victims, including the five sisters, have been reunited with their families.
