Nigeria's Economy Gradually Becoming Better Under Tinubu - Information Minister

The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, presented to President Bola Tinubu on Friday two hi-tech unmanned water vessels donated to the Nigerian government by Swiftship, which is a military manufacturing company based in the United States of America.

News About Nigeria reported that the equipment donated by the company is the S2 and S3 Swift Sea Stalkers, respectively.

According to a statement released by the Ministry of Defence Director of Press, Henshaw Ogubike, the water vessels were donated by the company during a recent payment by the Minister of State for Defence.

The statement revealed that Matawalle had travelled to the USA to inspect the facilities of high-tech military-producing hardware companies in the country.

The minister, while presenting the unnamed vessels to President Tinubu, explained that the equipment would help to protect the maritime environment of the country as well as other areas.

The Minister further revealed that the new equipment would be deployed to the Niger Delta, Lake Chad region, and other maritime regions of the country.

Also, the minister, while presenting the unnamed vessel, told the president that he was committed to enhancing Nigeria’s security through technological advancements, which was why he embarked on the tour.

He further stated that because of the need to enhance Nigeria’s security through technology, the need to partner with US companies in the production of military hardware locally in Nigeria is essential.

The Minister further told the President that the new partnership entered with Swiftship would allow Nigeria to learn the innovative ways of military hardware production, which is in line with President Bola Tinubu’s agenda of bringing peace and security to our dear nation.
