Saidi Balogun’s Family Thanks Public For Support After Daughter Zeenat’s Passing

The family of veteran Nigerian actor Saidi Balogun has expressed heartfelt gratitude following the recent passing of his daughter, Zeenat Jolade Balogun, who died on October 5, News About Nigeria reports.

In a statement shared by Saidi’s son, Jamal Balogun, the family acknowledged the support they’ve received from the public during this painful time

Describing Zeenat as “a warrior who gave life her all,” Jamal’s statement honoured her resilience, joy, and wisdom, noting that she embodied hope and a “never give up” spirit.

“More than anything else, she was HOPE,” the family wrote, adding that she “extended genuine friendship to everyone she encountered,” and showed the wisdom of a “family matriarch.” Her loving and caring nature, the family said, will be her lasting legacy.

“Her parting words were, “Ko de wa ri be ooo, in time, popsy mo ma change,” an imitation of a family staff member.”

Saidi Balogun also conveyed his deep appreciation for the kindness and support extended by friends, neighbours, and others who reached out in condolence.

He shared that the love shown has provided strength for the family during this difficult period, making the weight of their loss “more bearable.”

“We have been deeply moved by the overwhelming care, the heartfelt messages, and the many condolence visits. Your presence, prayers, and acts of kindness have truly touched our hearts,” he captioned the post.

“The love and support from friends, neighbours, and even those we have not seen in years have been a constant source of strength.

“Your compassion has made this challenging period more bearable, and for that, we are immensely grateful.”
