Some parts of the residence of the former Kano State Governor, Ibrahim Shekarau was gutted by fire on Sunday night.

News About Nigeria gathered that the fire started from the kitchen of the Ex-Governor’s house.

The living rooms of Shekarau’s third wife, Halima, was said to have been affected by the fire, which was said to have started from the kitchen, though the cause has not been clearly ascertained.

The Media Adviser to Shekarau, Dr. Sule Ya’u Sule confirmed the fire outbreak, explaining that the fire started from the inner kitchen of the house which was at the ground floor of the multi-million naira mansion.

He further appreciated God that the fire didn’t spread as they were able to contact the Kano State Fire Service who were on time put it off.

“We thank God the fire only affected one of Malam Ibrahim Shekarau’s living rooms and already men of the State Fire Service had successfully put off the fire,” Sule stated.

Also confirming the incident was the spokesperson of the State Fire Service, Saminu Yusif, who revealed that men of the service were immediately deployed to the house when they got the distress call.

It can be recalled that a similar fire outbreak happened in the house in September 2018.

The incident was a result of an electrical spark that affected two rooms in the mansion.

Just like the recent outbreak, the fire didn’t spread to the whole building that was built for the Shekarau by the Kano state government towards the end of his second tenure as governor of the state.
