Pastor Paul Enenche Apologises To Member For Calling Her A Liar

The senior pastor of the Dunamis International Gospel Centre (DIGC), Dr. Paul Enenche, has tendered an apology to Ms. Anyim Veronica Nnenna for calling her a liar during her testimony in church, News About Nigeria reports.

His apology was conveyed by the personal assistant/secretary to the senior pastor, Sylvester Edoh, in Abuja on Monday.

Recall that the pastor faced backlash from Nigerians after he interrupted Veronica during her testimony about how God helped her graduate with a degree in law after ten years, calling her a liar and stating that she was not a graduate of law.

In a statement, Edoh said that after confirmation that Veronica graduated with a degree in law, Pastor Paul expressed concern and has reached out to her.

He added that the pastor’s response was prompted by Veronica’s spoken English, which gave the idea that the minimal standards expected of a graduate, particularly one with a law degree, had not been fulfilled.

He maintained that it was not the intention of the pastor to publicly embarrass the testifier, adding that whatever happened was on the spur of the moment.

He said that the senior pastor’s behaviour was more motivated by his and the church’s dislike of seeming untruthful or mediocre.

“While we remain resolute in our passion for excellence, intolerance of mediocrity and falsehood, we wish to reiterate the fact that no harm or hurt was ever intended by the senior pastor against Ms. Anyim Veronica. The senior pastor feels deeply concerned and has already reached out to her.

“As a commission, we regret every inconvenience, hurt, and embarrassment this unfortunate scenario has caused Ms. Anyim Veronica Nnenna. We remain committed to her physical welfare as well as her spiritual growth. God bless us all,” the statement read.
