Nigerian crossdresser Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, who is popularly known as Bobrisky, was declared the Best Dressed Female at the Ajanaku movie premiere held at Circle Mall, Lekki, on Sunday.

In a viral video on the internet from the event, actor Femi Adebayo declared Bobrisky the winner while Big Brother Naija ‘Level Up’ housemate Groovy won the title of Best Dressed Male.

The event, which was attended by celebrities including Odunlade Adekola, Toyin Abraham, Mercy Aigbe, and Iyabo Ojo, saw Bobrisky receive the accolade despite being male.

The announcement of his win left many in shock, as many are questioning the modality behind a man winning an award that is meant for women.

News About Nigeria reports that Bobrisky’s controversial win comes after his earlier announcements that he has undergone surgery to change his genitals to those of a woman.

Reacting to controversies that his win has been sparking in a post on his Instagram story, Bobrisky noted that his win will silence haters.

He also added that winning the award and going home with the N1 million prize now shows who the real woman is.

Also, Toyin Abraham, who was present at the event in a video shared on social media, was surprised and left in shock about Bobrisky’s win.

Speaking in Yoruba while questioning Bobrisky about his win, the actress said, “Bobrisky, best-dressed female, if I give you an uppercut. Are you guys mad that Bobrisky is winning Best Female? Are you mad? Well, you will give me part of the money.”
