Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ekiti State, have called on its members to sheathe their swords and embrace peace, News About Nigeria reports.
They made this appeal during the inauguration of the reconciliation committee and other committees on Tuesday in the state capital.
The stakeholders, under the aegis of the Ekiti State Coalition of PDP Stakeholders, stated that the committees were inaugurated to assist in several areas of interest to bring more succour and progress to the party.
They noted that members of the committees have been saddled with the task of reconciling warring and aggrieved members.
They advised members of the party to stop fanning any ember of discord and to sheath their swords in the overall interest of the party and its teeming members.
The coalition further expressed total support for all steps that would restore peace to the PDP in Ekiti State, reiterating their support and commitment to the success of the state PDP Chairman, Alaba Agboola, while encouraging him to do more in his numerous reconciliation efforts to further unite the party.
They lauded the PDP leader in Ekiti State, Senator Biodun Olujimi, stating that her great efforts have been the rallying point for the party in Ekiti State, which has also assisted in no small measure to strengthen the party and further reconcile numerous aggrieved members.
They, however, urged the committees to discharge their responsibilities in a manner that would further entrench PDP in Ekiti State, encouraging them to do more to give the party a clear direction to success.
