Cyber-Bullying: Reactions As Iwobi Finally Returns To Instagram After AFCON

Nigerian blogger, Tunde Olaoluwa Adekunle, popularly known as Tunde Ednut, and social media influencer/musician, Idowu Adeyemi also known as Yhemo Lee have been accused of setting Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi up for trolling.

According to some Nigerians on X, people started dragging the footballer following the post made by Tunde Ednut on his verified Instagram page where he asked his followers what their thoughts were about the Fulham midfielder.

Also, in a now-viral video shared on his Instagram account, Yhemo Lee slammed the footballer, noting that he was the cause of the Super Eagles’ defeat.

In the video, YhemoLee displayed Iwobi’s account before the footballer deleted his post, noting that his page does not look like that of a footballer but that of a fashion model.

Yhemo Lee also mocked Iwobi for being in the Super Eagles to flaunt his “beauty” and not to play well for the team.

News About Nigeria recalls that the Super Eagles had on Sunday night lost the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) final against Cote D’Ivoire in a 2-1 battle.

An X user, ONsogbu, who called out Tunde Ednut for setting Iwobi up for dragging, accused him of being a vile person, noting that, he posted the player’s picture so that people could bully him.

His post reads, “Tunde Ednut is a pure vile person. He actually started the whole CYBERBULLY!NG(dragging) of Alex Iwobi by constantly posting his pictures and asking people, “how they feel about his performance,” but he is trying to play the victim card. Social media REGULATION is just the best option.”

Also another X user, @PabloHoggs, noted that, YhemoLee was wrong for posting such hate content against Iwobi.

“We can all agree iwobi’s performance was not good enough and it wasn’t the cause of our downfall either. He doesn’t deserve the bully and backlash to this extent. Yhemolee is disgusting for real,” his tweet reads.
