Due to the constant fall of the Naira against dollar, a former presidential aide cum social media motivational speaker, Reno Omokri, has tasked the President, Bola Tinubu to ban the importation of human hairs, News About Nigeria reports.
In a post shared on his official X account on Friday, Omokri accused Nigerians of being the cause of the Naira decline.
In the post where he proffered solutions on how to regain the Naira against dollars, Omokri stated that the ban on the importation of human hairs would help strengthen the nation’s currency.
Speaking further, he said Nigerians are to be blamed for the naira decline also because many of them love to fly foreign airlines instead of Nigerian airlines flying international routes.
According to Omokri, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) recently paid a billion dollars to foreign airlines that are flying the same route as Nigerian airlines that are flying International routes like Air Peace because Nigerians prefer to patronize the foreign airlines.
Speaking further on this, he said, that if Nigerians had patronized Nigerian-owned airlines instead of foreign airlines, the CBN would have not spent a whopping $1 billion and it would have stayed and circulated in Nigeria.
He further alleged that the Central Bank had to spend over $200 million to pay for human hair when Nigerian women have their natural hair that they can look beautiful in.
“If I were Tinubu, I would ban the importation of human hair. Fact-check this, as a nation, Nigeria spends more on human hair than on books,” he stated.
He also noted that another reason why the Naira keeps declining is that, most of the goods that are being imported to Nigeria are things that can be produced in the nation.
