The school proprietress of Excel Group of Schools, Mrs. Helen Odunubi, has been abducted by kidnappers in Ogun State, News About Nigeria reports.

It was disclosed by newsmen that the proprietress of the nursery and primary school was abducted on Tuesday inside the school premises in the Ogunsua Crescent, Oserw Baba Odun Matogbun area of Agbado in Ogun State, at about 1 p.m.

A source who pleaded anonymity disclosed that four people, two men and two women, had driven an unregistered ash-coloured Toyota Sienna into the school premises and headed straight to the school proprietress’ office.

According to the proprietress’s son, identified as Ayodeji Odunubi, who spoke to the police, the suspects had appeared a few minutes later with his mother and dragged her inside the said Toyota Sienna they drove into the premises with, adding that they had driven away before anyone could challenge them.

He also stated that before the incident, the four people had never been seen in the area.

The Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, while confirming the incident, stated that upon the report of the incident, the policemen in the Agbado Division were immediately mobilised.

She noted that the division has partnered with other security outfits in the state to secure the release of the 56-year-old principal.

She assured the people that the police, the community leaders, and other security outfits in the community were working together, maintaining that the victim would be rescued and the suspects arrested.

“I can assure you that efforts are in top gear to know the location of the victim and arrest the suspect,” she said.
