I Didn't Sue FG - Otti

The Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, has said that it is important for the people to have good governance because it is their dividend as residents of the state, News About Nigeria reports.

The governor said this while speaking at the Thanksgiving service organised by the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Hon. Nkiruka Onyejeocha, at the Peace Event Centre, Amuda, Isuochi, Umunneochi LGA, Abia State.

He maintained that the people of Abia State were deserving of every good thing, including the infrastructural developments going on in the state, prompt payment of salaries and pensions, among others.

According to him, these were all long overdue, and it was time for the people of Abia to enjoy the dividends of both governance and democracy.

Otti also added that by providing the benefits of good governance for the citizenry, he was not doing the people any special favour but simply carrying out the responsibilities of government.

He said that by building roads, access will be created to enable people to go about their businesses freely, thereby making life better for them.

He further applauded the initiative of Onyejeocha in coming back to return all glory to God for all she has accomplished.

He noted that in a world where it was easy to move on with life and forget the source of our blessings, the minister remembered to acknowledge God, who is the source of all her blessings.

Speaking also, the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, congratulated Abia residents on the new lease of life they are enjoying under the capable leadership of Governor Otti, describing him as one of the finest and brightest governors in the South East.
