The Minister of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr Abubakar Momoh, has charged newly elected members of the commission’s board with the responsibility of changing the wrong narrative flying around about Nigeria Delta Commission, News About Nigeria reports.

Momoh, who gave this charge to the members of the board during their inauguration in Port Harcourt on Thursday, also noted that according to the new template of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, any board which failed to meet the standards set by the Tinubu-led administration, would be shown the way out.

The Minister stressed the need for the members of the board to have in mind that the Tinubu-led administration is different from any government they have worked with in the past, stating that the board will be under a lot of monitoring to enable them to deliver maximally.

Momoh further revealed that he and the Permanent Secretary had signed a performance bond with President Tinubu, noting that the bond was associated with the eight presidential priorities, and therefore the pressure to outperform themselves was high.

He, therefore, urged them to put in their best and ensure they carried out their duties with efficiency, maintaining that as members of the board, they would also sign the bond.

He stated that the signing of the bond would, however, be done during a proposed retreat for the board members and management team.

On his part, the Chairman of the board, Mr Chinedu Ebie, urged the stakeholders to work together and ensure that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Agenda of Renewed Hope for Nigeria and the Niger Delta Region particularly becomes a success.
