The Imo State Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, has said that nobody can stop him from winning the governorship election in the state, News About Nigeria reports.

Anyanwu said this after he voted in his polling unit 012 at Amaimo Central School in the Ikeduru local council area of Imo state.

According to him, he is confident that he will be returned as the winner of the election.

The PDP candidate also alleged that some thugs headed by one Charles Amadi came to disrupt voting in his polling unit but were stopped from perpetrating his plan.

The former Imo Senator further stated that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, assured the people of the state that it would deliver a credible election, so he is counting on them to do so.

He also explained that part of INEC’s guideline for the election is that there will be no result from any polling unit where any violence or snatching of ballot occurred.

“INEC has said that any place that there is violence or snatching of election results that result will not count, that is while I am not bordered.”

The PDP also urged INEC officials to be diligent and to ensure that the choice of the people prevails in the election without any compromise.

Anyanwu further urged the people of the state to not relent in their fight for democracy and good governance but to ensure that they play their part in the electoral process so that they can begin to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
