Reno Omokri Says Amaechi Frustrated Over Tinubu’s Victory At Supreme Court

A former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has said that the former Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, is frustrated because he expected to become the Supreme Court-appointed President, News About Nigeria reports.

This was in response to Amaechi’s statement, where he blamed Nigerians for being too docile.

Responding on his X handle on Saturday night, Omokri alleged that Amaechi is frustrated because he expected the Supreme Court to disqualify President Bola Tinubu on the grounds that he was not qualified to run for the office of the President due to his forged Chicago State University (CSU) certificate.

He further noted that the former Rivers State governor is pained because he was expecting the court to disqualify Tinubu so that he could inherit his February 25, 2023, votes, just as he inherited Celestine Omehia’s votes.

According to the former presidential aide, the miracle Amaechi was expecting is similar to how he became the Supreme Court-appointed Governor of Rivers State on October 25, 2007, after the Apex court ruled that Omehia was not the rightful candidate of the PDP.

Even though Amaechi was not on the ballot, the votes Omehia received belonged to the PDP, and since he was disqualified, Amaechi remained the candidate of the PDP and was deemed to have won the election and should be sworn in immediately.

His post partly reads, “Amaechi was hoping for the same miracle in 2023. He expected the Supreme Court to declare President Bola Tinubu ineligible to contest due to the Chicago certificate issue. He hoped to approach the court to inherit Tinubu’s February 25, 2023, votes, just as he inherited Omehia’s votes. His current stance stems from his frustration that it did not happen.

“Rotimi Amaechi is just pained. He lost out at the All Progressives Congress primaries and also lost out in Rivers. He is not trusted within his own party and the Peoples Democratic Party. He is basically finished.”

Omokri further stated that it is not the first time Amaechi has said such a thing against Nigerians, noting that in 2019, he also called Nigerians cowards who accepted anything Buhari did.
