In a revelation from her forthcoming memoir, ‘The Woman in Me’, global pop sensation Britney Spears shares an account of her decision to terminate a pregnancy she had with her former boyfriend, Justin Timberlake when they were both just 19 years old.

News About Nigeria reports that Britney Spears disclosed that she was overjoyed with the idea of having a baby and forming a family with Justin Timberlake.

However, her then-boyfriend was ‘terrified’ and felt that they were not ready for the responsibilities of parenthood, given their tender age.

Spears reflects on this pivotal moment, saying, “It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated. I’m sure people will hate me for this, but I agreed not to have the baby.”

“I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father.”

Britney Spears openly described abortion as ‘one of the most agonising things’ she has ever experienced in her life.

The music icon’s forthcoming memoir is set to be released on October 24, shedding light on her life experiences, including the challenges she faced during her conservatorship, which she recently described as ‘stripping her of her womanhood’.

Since that time, Britney Spears has become a mother to two children, Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden James, 17, with her second husband, Kevin Federline.
