Chelsea Announces Squad Numbers For 2023/24 Season

As the 2023/24 English Premier League (EPL) season approaches, Chelsea Football Club have confirmed their squad numbers, including summer signings and existing team members, News About Nigeria reports.

New signings have been assigned their shirt numbers: French international Christopher Nkunku will wear number 18; former Villarreal forward Nicolas Jackson has chosen number 15.

Axel Disasi, the defender from Monaco, will sport the number 2 shirt; and Robert Sanchez, the goalkeeper from Brighton, will don the number 31 jersey.

Existing players have also embraced new numbers. World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez will now wear the number 8 shirt; Mykhailo Mudryk has taken on the number 10; and Raheem Sterling has become the new number 7, previously wearing 17.

Noni Madueke will don the number 11 shirt, while Marc Cucurella, Benoit Badiashile, Carney Chukwuemeka, and Armando Broja have also switched to different numbers.

Levi Colwill who recently signed a six-year contract, has taken the iconic number 26 shirt previously worn by Chelsea legend John Terry.

Additionally, young talents like Ian Maatsen and Malo Gusto have been given numbers within the first-team squad, reflecting their growing roles in the club.
