Former Kaduna senator, Shehu Sani has thrown a subtle jab at the immediate past Governor of Kaduna state Nasir El-Rufai as his ministerial confirmation on the floor of the Nigerian Senate is delayed.

El-Rufai whose ministerial appointment confirmation suffered a setback at the floor of the Nigerian Senate on Monday, will have to wait till the senate reconvenes to know his fate.

News about Nigeria recalls that the name of  El-Rufai was not on the list of ministerial nominees confirmed by the Nigerian Senate on Monday.

Also, the names of Senator Abubakar Danlandi from Taraba State and former Nexim Bank Managing Director, Stella Okotete  (Delta State) were missing from the list of confirmed ministers.

Sources say that the unconfirmed nominees were still undergoing security checks.

However reacting to the development in a tweet on Tuesday morning, Shehu Sani described the former governor as an imp who was intoxicated with power.

According to Mr. Sani, the former governor is now at the mercy of those wielding power.

He further suggested that the former Kaduna governor was a religious extremist with a fanatical political agenda.

“The Unconfirmed Ministerial nominee; The Imp who was intoxicated with power, and who arrogantly played God is now at the mercy of those wielding power,” a tweet by Mr Sani read.

Suggesting that the former governor should not have a place close to the seat of power if the nation desires peace, Mr Sani added “A religious extremist with a fanatical political agenda should have no place in the seat of power if that nation desires peace.”
