Known for his larger-than-life persona in the WWE and Hollywood, John Cena has also quietly amassed remarkable achievements outside the spotlight, breaking records in local gyms, News About Nigeria gathered.

Paul Wight, also known as The Big Show, recently shed light on Cena’s dedication to excellence during an exclusive interview with talkSPORT.

Wight, who had the opportunity to work closely with the 16-time WWE champion early in his career, spoke about Cena’s competitive and hyper-focused nature, which has been a driving force behind his success.

Recalling their WWE days, Wight revealed how he and Cena engaged in friendly gaming competitions, particularly playing Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004 on their PSP consoles while on the road.

He described Cena as a highly competitive individual who would skillfully advance characters and secure victories without uttering a word.

“He would just get in there and advance characters and build it and then crush you and never say a word. That’s John’s mentality,” Wight stated.

Cena’s dedication to excellence extends beyond the realm of entertainment. Recently, he surprised gym-goers in Liverpool when he turned up to work out while filming in the UK.

Wight shared an interesting anecdote of Cena visiting local gyms, where he would quietly observe the existing records on the wall.

With characteristic determination, Cena would then proceed to break every record in the gym before leaving without drawing attention to his accomplishments.

Wight attested to Cena’s exceptional strength, claiming that even at his heaviest weight of around 500 lbs, Cena could lift him with ease, leaving an impression of lying on a concrete platform.

What sets Cena apart, according to Wight, is his competitiveness with himself rather than with others.

He praised Cena’s work ethic and personal accountability, emphasizing that Cena’s drive for self-improvement has been a key factor in his massive success and unwavering character.

“His work ethic is with himself, he didn’t try to compete with other guys or anything like that – he held himself completely accountable.

“It shows his massive success and his character, so he’s one of the absolute coolest dudes I’ve ever met in the industry,” Wight remarked.
