Football journalist Fabrizio Romano, known for his accurate transfer updates on Monday, provided insight into the ongoing negotiations.

He said: “Chelsea is set to improve their bid for Moisés Caicedo this week, surpassing £70 million. Talks between Chelsea and Brighton are being conducted directly between the two clubs.

“The Blues are eager to finalize the deal promptly and hope to get it done within this week.”

Romano had initially revealed on Sunday that the English Premier League side is engaged in direct discussions with Brighton & Hove Albion regarding the talented youngster.
