Legendary Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta has cried his way through an emotional six minutes farewell video, News About Nigeria reports.

Azpilicueta has signed for his homeland La Liga side Atletico Madrid after spending an 11-year career at Stamford Bridge, winning every major trophy available.

The Spaniard won the League Cup, FA Cup, two Europa League titles, two Premier League crowns and the Champions League.

The 33-year-old had one year left on his contract, but will now leave on a free transfer after the Blues wrote off the remaining 12 months of his contract as a goodwill gesture for his remarkable stint at the club

Azpi, as is fondly called, recently rejected an offer by Italian giants Inter Milan, after giving his nod to the initial terms of the agreement.

The Spaniard is expected to head back to his homeland and join La Liga giants Atletico Madrid after turning down a move to Inter Milan.

He quickly switched sides once his country club gave the green light, with a bigger pay package.

Azpilicueta remains one of the most decorated players in Chelsea history, making a total of 508 appearances for the English club, after joining from Ligue 1 side Marseille in 2012.

He also played under nine different permanent managers during his time in London, with his best season allegedly coming under Antonio Conte, after impressing in a back three, which saw Chelsea secure the 2016-17 Premier League title.

His departure means he becomes the eighth player to leave Chelsea, with Mason Mount being the latest.

Recall that Manchester United on Wednesday announced the 24-year-old as their new player, while decorating him with the club’s iconic number 7 shirt.
