Chelsea is reportedly preparing to submit an official bid of €35m for Villarreal forward Nicolas Jackson, as per reliable sources at News About Nigeria.

The Blues have identified the 22-year-old as a key figure in their long-term plans and view him as a valuable investment for the future.

Stamford Bridge has lacked a central forward with pace and strength in recent seasons, qualities that they believe the Senegalese player, who was born in The Gambia, possesses.

According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea’s bid is expected to meet the player’s release clause at Villarreal. Romano also revealed that Jackson has expressed a strong desire to play for Chelsea, despite interest from other clubs.

Romano stated, “Chelsea’s official bid for Nicolas Jackson will be submitted next week. It will match the release clause of €35m, and Villarreal have already been informed. Negotiations regarding installment payments and other terms are underway, and a medical examination is scheduled. Jackson is determined to join Chelsea, despite receiving three other offers.”

The deal is reportedly close to being announced, and it is anticipated that Jackson will sign a minimum five-year contract as Chelsea continues to recruit promising young talent under the guidance of manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Additionally, the West London club is actively seeking to strengthen their midfield and has already made moves to acquire Moises Caicedo, the playmaker from Brighton and Hove Albion.

While Pochettino is focused on assembling the best possible team to aid in his role as manager, the club is also in the process of trimming their squad. It is rumored that Kai Havertz may be leaving Chelsea, with Arsenal among the clubs showing interest in acquiring him.
