A social media influencer, Kusssman, has recently caused a stir on Twitter after accusing popular Afrobeat artist Davido and his new signee, Logos Olori, of sampling his artist’s song ‘Ahead Ahead’ without permission or payment of royalties.

The media personality shared video clips on his social media page, which showed Shallipopi, his artist, singing his song ‘Ahead Ahead’, while comparing it to another video of Davido and Logos Olori doing their track using a similar vibe, News About Nigeria gathered.

Kusssman’s call-out has sparked a heated conversation online, with fans of both parties taking sides.

Many fans of Shallipopi have expressed their disappointment at the alleged theft of his intellectual property by Davido and Logos Olori.

They have also called on Davido and his team to do the right thing by acknowledging Shallipopi’s work and compensating him accordingly.

On the other hand, fans of Davido and Logos Olori have defended their favorite artists, saying that the similarities in the two songs could be coincidental and that sampling is a common practice in the music industry.

They have also urged Kusssman to provide evidence to back up his claims and to allow the legal system to handle the matter.

Meanwhile, it is not uncommon for artists in the music industry to sample from other artists’ works, but it is important they seek permission and pay royalties for the use of such works.

Failure to do so can lead to legal battles, which can be time-consuming and costly.

As at the time of writing, neither Davido nor Logos Olori has responded to the allegations made by Kusssman. However, it remains to be seen how this situation will unfold, and whether there will be a resolution that satisfies all parties involved.
