Chelsea caretaker coach, Frank Lampard, has given updates on N’Golo Kante, Mason Mount, César Azpilicueta and Marcus Bettinelli ahead of the Blue’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie with Real Madrid on Wednesday next week.

Kante, Mount, Azpilicueta and Bettinelli all missed out in Chelsea’s Premier League 1-0 defeat against Wolves on Saturday, News About Nigeria gathered.

Recall that Wolves defeated Chelsea at Molineux Stadium, with Matheus Nunes’ netting a beauty which was the only goal of the match.

Lampard after the game said some of the players in his squad don’t have a history of scoring goals.

Chelsea was unable to find their way back into the game and recorded their 11th loss of this Premier League season.

Speaking on players’ problems in front of the goal, Lampard said: “We have to find the reasons and solutions for that”.

“We have to give some credit to the players but some players here haven’t got a history of scoring goals, maybe fresh to the league or are new players.

“You have to give them time and work with them. At the same time, we’re Chelsea and want to score goals and win games so we have to find a solution to that,” Lampard said.

Providing an update on the four players ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash, Lampard said at his post-match press conference that, “Kante is managing his fitness.

“Azpi is nearly fit, needs a little bit of fitness. Mason had a feeling in his pelvic area, the injury he has been carrying.

“Bettinelli has a small problem,” Lampard concluded.
