In a bid to guarantee the safety of citizens and their properties, the Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, issued a directive on Monday mandating all police patrol vehicles to abide by traffic rules and regulations.
The order was given during a crucial meeting held at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, where Squadron Commanders of the Police Mobile Force (PMF) and Special Protection Unit (SPU) gathered for strategic discussions, News About Nigeria reports.
During the meeting, the IGP emphasized the paramount importance of maintaining law and order while ensuring the protection of lives and properties.

Acknowledging the prevailing security threats, including banditry, kidnapping, and insurgency, affecting the nation, the Acting IGP revealed the formation of a special committee led by the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Operations.
This committee has been tasked with formulating comprehensive strategies to address these security challenges head-on.

The DIG Operations, along with a team of experienced professionals, will work diligently to devise effective measures to tackle the various security threats plaguing the nation.
