The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has officially announced the results of the November/December 2024 exams for the National Business Certificate (NBC), National Technical Certificate (NTC), Advanced National Business Certificate (ANBC), and Advanced National Technical Certificate (ANTC).

The exams took place across 1,825 centers nationwide from November 7 to December 7, 2024. Dr. Nnasia Asanga, the acting registrar and CEO of NABTEB, shared the results during a briefing in Benin.

News About Nigeria learnt that of the total candidates who sat for the exams, 44,730 were O’Level candidates, with 25,542 males and 19,188 females.

Additionally, 4,095 candidates registered for the A-Level exams, with 2,725 males and 1,370 females.

The exams had an impressive participation rate, with 98.87% of enrolled candidates, or 44,226 individuals, sitting for the exams.

A total of 29,880 O’Level candidates earned five credits or more, including English language and mathematics, making up 67.56% of the candidates.

In comparison, 42,431 candidates scored five credits or more with or without English language and mathematics, representing 95.94%.

For the craft-level exams, 40,978 candidates participated, and 33,295 (81.25%) were certified as craftsmen, showing a notable improvement over 2023, where only 41.16% were certified.

At the Master Craftsman level, 2,404 out of 3,892 candidates (61.77%) achieved certification, surpassing the previous year’s certification rate of 54.82%.

Although the performance in five credits, including English and mathematics, was lower than the 2023 results, the overall pass rate for five credits or more remained strong, with a slight improvement compared to 2023.

NABTEB also reported that 256 candidates (0.53%) were involved in examination malpractice.

Furthermore, the board has begun issuing electronic certificates, allowing candidates who sat for exams from May/June 2017 to November/December 2022 to receive their certificates electronically.
