Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has reached out for assistance, revealing that she has been struggling financially and medically.

She made an emotional appeal during an Instagram Live session monitored by News About Nigeria on Tuesday, sharing details about her current situation.

Abubakar stated that she has been living in her village for over a year due to her health challenges and financial struggles.

She explained that although she shares edited photos online, her reality is different.

She expressed frustration over claims that she is pretending to be sick, insisting that she has been battling serious health issues.

The actress also said that she has been abandoned by many of her colleagues in the Nollywood industry.

According to her, she has been reaching out to people for help, going from one direct message to another, but has received little support.

She revealed that she had to sell her three cars to survive, as she has been unable to work.

Abubakar expressed disappointment over a former best friend who, she claimed, has accused her of faking her illness.

She lamented that despite her struggles, the person never checked on her.

She questioned why anyone would fake being sick, revealing that she has been desperate to afford medication.

Recall that in October 2024, the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) suspended Abubakar indefinitely.

The suspension followed a two-year investigation by a special panel, which found her guilty of spreading false information about fellow members, associates, and patrons, including allegations of extramarital affairs with prominent individuals.

During this suspension, she has been prohibited from participating in any AGN activities or film projects.
