In a heartfelt post on Instagram, Melody shared the news of her passing, revealing that she died in the early hours of Thursday, October 24, 2024.

“It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we inform you of the transition to eternal rest of our beloved mother, wife, sister, and friend (Mrs. Adedoyin Odunuga, nee Odagi), who passed away early this morning,” he wrote. He added, “RIP. You will forever be in our hearts.”

The cause of her death has not been disclosed.

Since the announcement, tributes and condolences have poured in from fans and fellow gospel musicians, expressing their sorrow over the loss.

Melody and Adedoyin were married in 2017 after being together for 16 years.

Their wedding ceremony took place at the Ikoyi Registry and was attended by many of Dare’s colleagues from the gospel music industry.

The couple shared three children together. In a touching gesture, Melody gifted Adedoyin a house to celebrate her 45th birthday in 2023.

In a related development, gospel singer Aduke Gold passed away on August 12, 2024, at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Following her death, her family clarified that she succumbed to cervical cancer, contrary to online claims that she died during a fibroid operation and that the hospital was responsible for her death.

Aduke Gold’s brother, Aderogbo Ajayi, a pastor, spoke with Gbeborun9ja, stating, “She was ill; she had cervical cancer. We have obtained her death certificate. All the information spreading around about the cause of her death is false.”

Ajayi noted that his sister started as a choir member in their church and rose to prominence in the gospel music scene.
