Four people have been arrested by operatives of the Rivers State Police Command in connection to the disappearance of a Corps member, identified as Yahaya Faruq, News About Nigeria reports.

This was confirmed in a statement on Tuesday by the police spokesperson in Rivers State, SP Grace Iringe-Koko.

She noted that the member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) was serving in Ikuru Town, Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, and mysteriously went missing after reporting for work at his part-time job at the LDM Chinese Mining Company in the area.

Iringe-Koko, however, disclosed that four persons have been arrested in connection to the disappearance, adding that they have been transferred to the State CID as investigation continues.

She said, “Yes, I am aware of it (Faruq’s disappearance).

“No fewer than four persons have been arrested and transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a discreet investigation.”

It is worth noting that some concerned Nigerians had earlier petitioned the security agencies to determine the whereabouts of Mr. Faruq, who was declared missing on 14 October.

The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), a student union based in Edo, released an unsigned statement drawing the attention of Nigerians to his disappearance.

The Superintendent of Police has, however, assured the people that the police will not relent in its search for the whereabouts of Farouq and will pursue all leads to ensure he is found safe and sound.

She also maintained that the culprits and those who aided in the crime would all be apprehended and made to face the wrath of the law.
