The federal government has granted approval for the construction of a private airstrip at Canaanland, the headquarters of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel, in Ota, Ogun State.
News About Nigeria reports that the church’s founder, Bishop David Oyedepo, announced the approval during a special service held at Canaanland.
According to him, this new development will bring convenience to worshippers and guests traveling for major church events, including the annual Shiloh convention.
Bishop Oyedepo shared his excitement, saying, “Our members can now land and park their aircraft at Canaanland, enabling easier access for worshippers and guests from across the country and beyond.”
The new airstrip, he noted, will eliminate the need for church members to first arrive at a major airport, allowing them to travel directly to the church’s premises.
He added, “You are working in the centre of God’s plan, so that I don’t need to fly a helicopter to the airport. I can leave from here to wherever I am going.”
The airstrip will be funded entirely by the church and it shows the church’s self-sufficiency and infrastructure development.
Bishop Oyedepo assured congregants that the airstrip would be constructed to meet high standards of safety and regulatory compliance.
Although specific timelines for construction have yet to be disclosed, church leaders have said that work will begin promptly, ensuring the facility aligns with aviation requirements.
