Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, recently visited Maiduguri, Borno State, to support victims of the recent devastating floods, News About Nigeria reports.
The flood recently ravaged some parts of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, causing severe damages, including rendering residents homeless and leading to loss of lives and properties.
Accompanied by his brother Yinka and a group of friends and associates, Seyi made a huge donation exceeding N500 million to assist those affected by the disaster.
Seyi said that his visit marks the beginning of his long-term commitment to helping the people of Borno State.
He praised the community’s resilience and expressed hope that the state would recover from the challenges it has faced in recent years.
The donation comprised essential food items, medical supplies, and household necessities, including food items (cartons of spaghetti, tomato paste, groundnut oil, rice, flour, and other staples), medical supplies (prescriptions for nearly 50,000 people, including anti-malarials, anti-hypertensives, and antibiotics), household necessities (mosquito nets, blankets, mattresses, sanitary items, and wash kits).
Seyi’s charitable efforts were applauded by notable figures such as transport expert Mr. Chidi and aviator Isaac Balami, who commended his dedication to supporting young people and flood victims in Borno.
Meanwhile, elder statesman Alhaji Aminu Dantata also donated N1.5 billion to flood victims in Borno State.
Leading a delegation from Kano to Maiduguri, Dantata condoled with Governor Babagana Zulum and the people of Borno, urging the Federal Government to address the country’s worsening economic conditions.
The floods in Maiduguri caused huge damage, leaving many residents homeless and resulting in loss of life and property.
