Chidimma Adetshina, the 2024 winner of Miss Universe Nigeria, paid a courtesy visit to the Internally Displaced Person (IDP) camp in Abuja on Tuesday.

Her visit to the IDP camp was made public in a series of posts shared on the pageant’s official X account on Wednesday.

Sharing photos from the visit, the pageantry noted that Chidimma’s visit to the internally displaced persons is in line with her goal of spreading love and offering support to the vulnerable members of society.

The post reads, “Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 Chidimma Adetshina visited the Karamajiji IDP camp in Abuja yesterday, where she connected with internally displaced individuals and witnessed their resilience firsthand. Her visit aimed to spread Love and offer support. #MissUniverseNigeria.”

News About Nigeria recalls that Chidimma’s victory at the Miss Universe Nigeria was that of resilience and grace following the way she was disqualified from Miss Universe South Africa.

Chidimma had faced various hostility in South Africa after questions arose about her nationality, leaving her with no choice but to quit the Miss South Africa contest.

Following the online xenophobic attack and her quitting the Miss Universe South Africa contest, organisers of Miss Universe Nigeria had invited Adetshina to contest in Nigeria on the grounds that it was “an opportunity to represent her father’s native land on an international stage.”

Upon arrival in Nigeria, Chidimma, who had captured the hearts of many following the attacks she suffered at the hands of South Africans, was able to win the contest by giving it her best.
