Obi Mourns Death Of Hajiya Dada Yar’Adua

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, has mourned the death of Hajiya Dada Yar’Adua, mother of the late President Musa Yar’Adua, News About Nigeria reports. 

Obi expressed his sadness at the demise of the matriarch in a statement on Tuesday.

He sympathised with the family of the late matriarch and the people of Katsina State and noted that she will be remembered for her dedication.

He also hailed her for having raised her children well.

He stated, “It’s with a heavy heart that I received the news of the death of Hajiya Dada, the mother of the late President of Nigeria, Umaru Musa Yar’adua, and the former Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters, Gen. Shehu Musa Yar’Adua.

“Hajia Dada was a great woman who raised her children well for the exemplary leadership role they played in the political trajectory of our dear country. Her love for the nation was visibly manifested in her firm support for her beloved son, Late President Yar’Adua, in his patriotic desire to reposition the nation based on unity, peace and progress, and then deliver good governance. Hajia Dada will be remembered for her dedication to her religious faith.

“I sincerely condole with the entire Yar’Adua family over the passing of their matriarch. I also commiserate with the government and people of Katsina State over this loss. May God Almighty console them, and grant all of us, the fortitude to bear her loss.

“May Allah forgive her sins, accept her into Al-Jannah, and bless the entire Yar’Adua family.”
