Nigerian gospel singer Aduke Gold has been laid to rest in an emotional ceremony.
News About Nigeria reports that her burial which was held today (Friday) had her family members and others in attendance in a sorrowful state.
A touching video of the late gospel singer’s burial which emerged online, showed her heartbroken family members at the venue, with their faces marked by deep sadness.
The video also showed the funeral procession, which featured a striking tribute, with pallbearers dressed in Aso Oke and matching caps carrying Aduke Gold’s pristine white coffin.
The singer’s body was transported in a white hearse which was adorned with a wreath on its windscreen and her name “Aduke” prominently displayed, along with a photo of the late singer near the license plate.
The church service held in her honour took place on Friday, August 23, at the Lagos African Church Grammar School College Bus Stop, College Road, Ogba, commencing at 9 a.m. while the service of songs was held yesterday (Thursday) night with her family, colleagues in the gospel music industry and others in attendance.
News About Nigeria had reported that the family of the singer has revealed that the singer died of cervical cancer.
The clarification was made following various claims by people online that the singer died while undergoing a fibroid operation at the hospital.
They had also accused the hospital of killing her, claiming that she was not given proper medical attention.
Recall that the singer died on Monday, 12th of August, 2024 at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, Oyo State.
