Global soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has expanded his already massive online presence by launching a new YouTube channel, ‘UR’.
With nearly a billion followers across various social media platforms, Ronaldo is the most followed person in the world.
News About Nigeria gathered that Ronaldo boasts 112.5 million followers on X (formerly Twitter), 170 million on Facebook, and a staggering 636 million on Instagram.
The new YouTube channel has already attracted 5.4 million subscribers as of this report.
Within hours of its launch, ‘UR’ set a YouTube record by surpassing 1 million subscribers in just 1 hour and 29 minutes, making it the fastest-growing channel in the platform’s history.
The channel will offer fans an intimate look at Ronaldo’s life beyond soccer, covering his passion for the game, family life, wellness, and business ventures.
It will also feature interviews with notable personalities, providing exclusive insights into the lives of well-known athletes.
“I have always enjoyed having such a strong relationship with fans on social media, and my YouTube channel will give me an even bigger platform to do so,” Ronaldo said.
“They will learn more about me, my family, and my views on many different subjects.”
A standout video is titled ‘These are my passions!’ In it, Ronaldo is asked to choose between various sports, like boxing or UFC and NBA or NFL, giving fans a glimpse into his interests beyond football.
When asked to pick between tennis and golf, Ronaldo leans towards tennis.
The challenge becomes harder when he has to choose between tennis legends Novak Djokovic and Rafa Nadal.
The camera zooms in as he struggles to decide, visibly torn. Ultimately, he can’t choose and bows down in the middle, indicating his indecision.
Ronaldo’s illustrious career has seen him win 32 trophies, including five UEFA Champions League titles, five Ballon d’Or awards, and three UEFA Men’s Player of the Year awards.
He currently captains both the Portuguese national team and Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
