Controversial Nigerian street singer Portable has claimed that he was attacked and beaten during an incident in Iju-Ishaga, Lagos.

The singer shared a video on social media showing himself in apparent pain, though no visible injuries were seen. In the video, one of his wives is seen tending to him.

Portable recounted the incident in a post, stating that he was at a car dealer’s event when the attack occurred.

According to him, the attackers were local men from the neighbourhood, whom he referred to as “Egbon Adugbo.”

He claimed that his crew members were also targeted, with some still missing and others having their belongings stolen.

“Wahala big Palaba around iju ishaga We go celebrate with @lincon_orn wey dey sell motor … Inside Adugbo wey we. Dey do show na so all dis Egbon adugbo achieve us, ZEHNATION boys are still missing oo.. they attack my boys after I escape,” Portable wrote.

He added that the attackers took his ice chain, gold earrings, and other belongings, despite the fact that he had shown them kindness by giving them money.

Portable called on the car dealer, who hosted the event, to help recover the stolen items, including two iPhones and an ATM card belonging to one of his crew members.

@lincon_orn should help tell those Egbon adugbo to return @iam_sexyshay 2 iphones and my atm.. we see @dullarboi phones and car … and we can’t still find him…I never see @bamidola_ we hear say them attack him .. those are my artist that is missing oo God no go shame us ”

However, many observers have speculated that this incident might be a publicity stunt to promote Portable’s upcoming music release.
