Senator Basheer Lado, Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Senate Matters, has hailed the recent legislation signed by the President as a transformative step that will restore integrity within the judiciary.
Lado stated that the new law demonstrates President Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of Nigerian workers, similar to his swift approval of the new National Minimum Wage Bill of N70,000.
According to Lado, the newly signed Act revises the salaries, allowances, and benefits for judicial officers, reflecting the current economic realities.
It also amends Certain Political, Public, and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc.) Act, No. 6, 2002, by removing provisions relating to judicial office holders from the legislation.
He described the signing of the bill as an achievement demonstrating President Tinubu’s dedication to ensuring fair compensation for those serving in critical roles, particularly within the judiciary.
Lado stated, “This decision not only reinforces the integrity of our justice system but also sets a new standard for leadership that truly values the hard work and sacrifices of all Nigerian workers.”
Lado also praised Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Abass Tajudeen, and the 10th National Assembly for their commitment to the welfare of Nigerians, highlighting their role in passing the executive bill that led to this legislative change.
He urged judicial officers to redouble their efforts to deliver justice swiftly, adding that the judiciary remains the last hope for the common man.
Lado expressed hope that the enhanced welfare of judicial officers would lead to a more effective and equitable justice system for all Nigerians.
