Protesters in Kano state on Thursday hit the street to demand end to hunger and other challenges bedevilling the nation.

Moving in mass, the protesters, who were captured in a now-viral video on social media, were carrying placards with various inscriptions like; End bad governance in Nigeria, End hunger, among others.

While making their demands known, the protesters, speaking in Hausa, called on the President Bola Tinubu-led government to end hunger in Nigeria. They noted that they are hungry.

News About Nigeria gathered that the ongoing protest in the state has been peaceful as there is no record of any violence in any part of Kano state.

The Nationwide protest which has commenced in states like Lagos, Abuja, and Kano among others is holding despite pleas by the Federal government for Nigerians to shelve the action.

While pleading with the protesters not to hit the streets, the FG had noted that one year was not enough to implement all its policies.

The FG said that the current economic challenges are a ‘family issue’ that can be settled amicably through dialogue, bringing lasting solutions to the challenges.

Speaking yesterday (Wednesday) after a closed-door session of senators in Abuja, the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio urged Nigerians to be patient with the Tinubu-led administration, adding that the signing of the new National Minimum Wage Act, the sale of crude oil to local refiners in Naira, and the implementation of Students Loan Act are clear proofs that the President is working tirelessly towards delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.
