Nollywood actress Zainab Bakare has stated that her talent and acting abilities go beyond her physical appearance, which includes her recently-acquired Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery, News About Nigeria reports.
In a recent interview with Saturday Sun, Bakare responded to questions about whether her new body was a huge factor in securing roles in the industry.
Bakare clarified that while her physical appearance might be noticeable, it is not the primary reason producers cast her in projects.
“Not really, remember there are other things involved aside from the body. Most producers will say it’s because I fit in their different projects that is why they want me on it. My delivery and talent, then body can come afterwards, depending on the character I am playing,” she said.
Bakare also shared a challenging experience from her career that left an impact on her.
She recounted an incident during the production of a personal project that was particularly dear to her.
After giving her crew a break for the Eid holiday, she received devastating news on Eid Day that the entire project had crashed.
This setback was compounded by the recent loss of her mother, making it an incredibly tough period for the actress.
Determined not to let the project fail, Bakare attempted to reschedule with her cast, only to find that none were available before the planned resumption date.
Faced with the prospect of losing a multi-million Naira investment, she made the difficult decision to hire a new cast and pay them again to complete the project.
Reflecting on this challenging time, Bakare said, “That was one of my most difficult challenges as a producer but I believe God doesn’t forsake his own, so I was able to scale through that phase.”
