Nigerian rapper and activist Falz recently shared insights into his personal life, revealing that he has never experienced being in love or declared love to anyone, News About Nigeria reports.
Speaking on the Menisms Podcast, Falz discussed his views on relationships and his own emotional journey.
When asked about his romantic experiences, Falz admitted that he has never reached a level of emotional commitment where expressing love felt appropriate.
“I have never said ‘I love you’ to anybody. I have never been in love or gotten to that level of emotional commitment before,” he stated.
Falz explained that he approaches relationships with honesty about his feelings and intentions, ensuring that both parties are on the same page from the beginning.
He believes that this clarity prevents misunderstandings and aligns expectations.
In a separate interview with Naija 102.7 FM in Lagos, Falz, known for his hit song “Bop Daddy,” addressed his single status at the age of 33.
He attributed his cautious approach to relationships to the challenges of finding genuine commitment in the entertainment industry.
Falz also mentioned the pressure from his parents, particularly his father, renowned lawyer Femi Falana, to settle down.
Despite their concerns, Falz said that he is taking his time and not succumbing to external pressures.
Falz clarified that while he is currently single, he remains interested in women, stating, “I’m a straight man. I like women.”
He acknowledged that his celebrity lifestyle poses challenges to maintaining a serious relationship, which has led him to be more careful in his romantic endeavours.
Falz said he last experienced a serious relationship during his university days and has since focused on balancing his career and personal life.
