Tinubu Greets Newly Elected NBA President

President Bola Tinubu has warmly felicitated with Mazi Afam Josiah Osigwe (SAN) on his well-deserved victory as the newly elected President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).

The President also extended his congratulations to all the newly elected officials of the NBA and the entire membership of the association for the seamless execution of the electoral process.

In a statement through his spokesperson, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the outgoing President of the NBA, Mr. Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau (SAN), for his exemplary leadership and dedication to the association during his tenure.

President Tinubu’s congratulatory message is a testament to his administration’s commitment to fostering a harmonious relationship with the legal community.

Recall that  the renowned legal expert, Afam Osigwe, was elected as the new president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) on July 21

News About Nigeria reported that Osigwe, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), garnered the most votes in the recent NBA election, which was conducted online.

He had previously served as the Secretary-General of the NBA and will now take the reins as president.

President Tinubu has demonstrated his willingness to collaborate with the association in addressing the various challenges confronting the legal profession.

This gesture is a promising start to a productive partnership between the government and the legal community, and it bodes well for the future of the profession.

The statement added that as the new leadership of the NBA prepares to take the reins, they can count on the support and cooperation of President Tinubu’s administration in their efforts to promote the rule of law, justice, and legal excellence in Nigeria.
