Tinubu Appoints Walson-Jack To Succeed Yemi-Esan As Head Of Civil Service

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, effective August 14, 2024.

News About Nigeria reports that this appointment was announced in a statement issued by Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.

Ngelale said Folasade Yemi-Esan, the outgoing HoS, is set to retire from the civil service on August 13.

Mrs. Walson-Jack will succeed the current Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Folasade Yemi-Esan, who is set to retire on August 13, 2024.

The incoming Head of Civil Service brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, and is expected to provide leadership and guidance to the federal civil service.

The appointment of Mrs. Walson-Jack is a significant development in the federal civil service, and is seen as a key move by President Tinubu to strengthen the bureaucracy and enhance the delivery of public services.

The statement from the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity congratulated Mrs. Walson-Jack on her appointment and wished her success in her new role.

The outgoing Head of Civil Service, Folasade Yemi-Esan, was also commended for her dedication and service to the nation.

Walson-Jack was appointed as Federal Permanent Secretary in 2017 and has served in several Ministries.

President Tinubu, while thanking the outgoing Head of Service for her stewardship, tasks the incoming Head of Service to discharge her duties with innovative flair, integrity, and stringent adherence to the extant rules and regulations of the Civil Service of the Federation.
