Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) has revealed that the winner of its upcoming Season 9 will take home a grand prize of N100 million and a brand-new SUV.

News About Nigeria understands that this year’s prize is N20 million less than the N120 million awarded in Season 8, which was claimed by Kogi State-born Ilebaye Odiniya.

At a press conference in Lagos, Busola Tejumola, MultiChoice’s executive head of content and West Africa channels, announced that the new season will kick off on Sunday, July 28, 2024.

The show will be broadcast across all Africa Magic channels starting at 7 p.m. WAT.

“The ninth season of Big Brother Naija will go beyond drama; we will introduce different blends of unique entertainment,” Tejumola stated. “The show will run from July 28 to October 6.”

One of the major changes this season is that housemates will enter the house in pairs and participate in challenges together, a departure from previous seasons where they competed individually.

Tejumola explained, “The challenging aspect of the show will be that the housemates will be going into the house in pairs and doing some of the house challenges in pairs.”

Encouraging fans to tune in, she added, “Everyone curious about the theme should watch out for the premiere on Sunday, July 28. The show promises lots of fun, vibes, emotion, drama, dynamics, and intriguing twists.”

While Tejumola did not elaborate on the reason for the reduction in the grand prize, she did mention the show’s sponsors for the season.

“We are pleased to welcome Guinness as our gold sponsor this season. Other sponsors include Pepsi, Indomie, Airtel, Tecno, Zandas, Arla, Golden Penny, Gracias Planta, Amatem Softgel, Nexus, Travel Beta, and Innoson Motors. Get ready for an exhilarating journey with Big Brother Naija Season 9!”
