Nigeria Was Never Meant To Exist – Burna Boy

The University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) has refuted claims that the Nigerian music artiste Burna Boy paid the bills of all the patients in the hospital, News About Nigeria reports.

Mrs. Elabha Meni, the spokesperson for the institution, made the clarification in a statement released in Port Harcourt on Friday.

Recall that netizens had praised the sensational Afrobeats singer for paying the hospital bills of patients in the hospital during a recent visit.

However, Meni clarified in the statement that the music icon only settled the bills of selected patients at the facility, contrary to claims of covering all outstanding bills.

She commended the singer for his kindness in assisting with the bills of selected patients, adding that the hospital did not receive direct payments from the musician and his team.

“We commend Burna Boy’s kindness in financially assisting select patients in our hospital to offset their bills during his visit on June 11.

“However, contrary to reports stating that all patients bills in UPTH were paid during the visit, only selected patients received cash gifts or donations.

“The hospital did not receive direct payments from the musician and his team on behalf of patients to support this worthy course of reducing healthcare costs,” she stated.

Recall that the musician, through his foundation, also distributed food to members of the Rivers State community during his visit to the state a few weeks ago.

This extraordinary act of kindness from the Afrobeats superstar went viral on the internet, where some other videos with Burna sharing cash with students of the University of Port Harcourt also surfaced.
