Managing Director of Fouani Company and Three Lebanese Abducted Near Falomo Bridge

Three Lebanese and the managing director of Fouani Company, the company that owns LG and Hisense, were abducted on Friday, while they were taking a boat from Apapa to Victoria Island near the Falomo Bridge.

Although the victims’ names have not yet been made public, a witness who asked to remain anonymous revealed that the kidnappers had contacted them and demanded a $1.5 million ransom.

News About Nigeria reports that the brothers—Abbas Fouani, Youssef Fouani and Amtal Fouani—were said to have been abducted around 6 pm on Friday.

“Yesterday (Friday) evening, the Managing Director of Fouani Company and three Lebanese were kidnapped around Falomo Bridge while travelling from Apapa to Victoria Island by boat.

“The kidnappers have asked for $1.5 million,” the source said.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the incident, said that detailed information cannot be given immediately because of the sensitivity of the incident.

“Yes, it is true. We got the report and we are looking into it. Please, I’m not obliged to state more than that.

“I’m not obliged to state the names, when, where, and how it happened for now, but we are looking into it,” he said.

Fouani Nigeria Ltd. specialises in electronics and is the sole distributor of LG, Hisense, and Maxi products in Nigeria.
