Tinubu Felicitates With Okonjo-Iweala On 70th Birthday

On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu celebrated the Director General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, on her 70th birthday, News About Nigeria reports.

The President conveyed his goodwill message to the global icon in a statement released by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, on Thursday.

In the statement, the President noted that Okonjo-Iweala is a worthy ambassador of Nigeria who deserves to be celebrated for how well she has represented the country on the global scene.

Tinubu stated that she is an example of the grit, diligence, and brilliance that Nigerians are known for.

President Tinubu also said that Okonjo-Iweala was able to distinguish herself as an exceptional leader when she served as Nigeria’s Minister of Finance during the regime of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

He further appreciated her for her service to the nation and efforts towards building resilient institutions.

In the statement, President Tinubu also rejoiced with the former Finance Minister and her family on this momentous occasion.

He prayed that the Lord would keep her strong and in good health for many years to come, adding that she is a beacon of hope and a great source of inspiration to younger generations.

The statement partly reads, “President Tinubu also commends the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation for being a worthy ambassador of Nigeria, exemplifying the grit, diligence, and brilliance that Nigerians are known for. The President prays for many more years in good health for Dr. Okonjo-Iweala and her family.”

President Tinubu also tasked younger leaders to emulate Okonjo-Iweala’s tenacity and fierceness in carrying out her responsibilities.
