The Minister of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musawa, has sought the support of Nigerians to see to it that the ailing Nollywood actor, Zack Orji, regains his health, News About Nigeria reports.

She made the call to Nigerians on Tuesday after visiting the actor, who underwent brain surgery on January 1, 2024, in a private hospital in Wuse, Abuja.

In a statement by the Minister’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Nneka Ikem Anibeze, Barrister Hannatu expressed her sympathy with the family of the veteran actor, describing him as a national asset.

She also expressed her faith that God will heal the actor and he will come back stronger than he has ever been. She, therefore, appealed to Nigerians to do all they could to support him.

Hannatu solicited the collective prayers of Nigerians, stating that the actor and his family deserve the prayers of well-meaning Nigerians.

According to her, the least Nigerians can do for someone who has entertained the country for so long, is to say words of prayer for his recovery.

“We will reach out to other well-meaning Nigerians to support Zack Orji through prayers and other means available to ensure that he survives this ailment,” she said.

She maintained that her support for the actor was not just because her ministry is affiliated with the industry but because the actor has dedicated his time and effort to entertain Nigerians for decades.

Hannatu maintained that he is one of the individuals who laid the foundation for Nollywood and the film industry in Nigeria.
