The African Export-Import Bank, Afreximbank, has disclosed that it will be supporting the Enugu State government by financing key projects in the state, News About Nigeria reports.
The President of Afreximbank, Prof. Benedict Oramah, disclosed this during a working visit to the Government House, Enugu, on Tuesday, stating that he is committed to the vision of Governor Peter Mbah to drive development and investment in the state.
Oramah noted that the governor is a visionary and his drive and vision for the state have rubbed off on the bank.
He added that the work the governor was doing in the state was in line with the bank’s goals and objectives for the rapid development of the African continent.
He disclosed that his discussion with the governor on how to support the Enugu State government and people was his first official assignment for the year.
Oramah stated that it spoke volumes about the confidence of the governor and his vision for not only the state but the country at large.
He also commended the governor for what he described as out-of-the-book thoughts on how sub-nationals can contribute to the development aspirations of Nigeria and the continent.
Oramah further noted that his team will take a look at the hotel and the conference centre, which are under development in the state, and partner with the government in completing the project.
“We also are very interested in supporting the development of the new terminal at the airport and especially the cargo and, of course, using it as a base to implement and grow an agro-processing zone,” he added.
