The Governor of Rivers State, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, has said that the decisions he has been taking and will continue to take in his administration are not borne out of fear of anyone, News About Nigeria reports.

The governor made this known in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Boniface Onyedi, stating that the assertions by some people that the decisions he was making were borne out of fear were false and held no weight.

He maintained that his decisions were borne out of a strong desire to restore peace to the state, as the political crisis in the state has gone on for a long time.

Fubara, who disclosed this at the maiden state banquet by his administration at Government House Port Harcourt on Monday, appealed to the people of the state to embrace the ongoing peace process at the instance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Fubara maintained that his administration would not be engaged in any dirty political war that would hinder the promising prospects of development in the state, adding that he loved the state and people too much to do anything that would hinder their growth.

“Every decision that we’ve taken is not borne out of fear but because we have the interest of our people and we have respect for elders,” the governor said.

He added that he is invested in the peace of the state, not for his own interests or gains, but for the development and progress of the state.
