An All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Edo State, Dr. Blessing Agbomhere has stated that the administration of the current governor, Godwin Obaseki, is disorganised, News About Nigeria reports.
The governorship aspirant stated this in Fugar, Ward 1, Etsako Central Local Government Area, where he declared his intention to run for governor at the ward level.
He noted that Obaseki’s administration was marred by a deep level of poverty, unemployment that increased daily, and a lack of industrialisation and industries in the state.
According to him, these are all direct results of the corrupt, disorganised, and purposeless leadership of Obaseki.
He further stated that the governor did not have the interest of the party at heart, noting that he planned on imposing an unpopular candidate on the people in the forthcoming governorship election in the state in 2024.
He assured the people that if he is elected governor, he will utilise his vast wealth of experience in academics, the media, strategic leadership, and international connections to rescue, sweep, and reset Edo State and place it on par with developed states in the country.
He further promised to eliminate poverty from the state by creating jobs, which, according to him, can be achieved through foreign direct investment in the state.
He maintained that he is a witness to the hopeless, chaotic, and stale economic life that has been the fate of Edo State for a long time.
Speaking further, he pointed out that the state is in dire need of innovative and purpose-driven leadership as the tragic state of affairs in the state has become worrisome and he is the right person for the job.
