A building and construction industry expert, Mr Patrick Agbaza, has advocated that the government lend their support to local firms to enable them thrive and succeed in the global market, News About Nigeria reports.
Agbaza, who is the Managing Director of Pazino Transnational Integrated Services, made this call while speaking at the Homex Exhibition themed: “Sustainability of Home Interior Design in West Africa.”
He noted that the government supporting local manufacturers was the only way the human capital development drive of President Bola Tinubu can be actualised.
According to him, it was impossible for the private sector to do it alone without the support of the government, adding that companies and firms from China, Turkey and India exhibitors at Homex have become successful because they have the unwavering support of their home governments.
He further stated that if the government threw in their weight behind the local and private firms in the country and support them, by sponsoring private firms to participate in foreign exhibitions, it will enhance the feasibility of these firms and increase their product market penetration.
He therefore called on the government to support the local firms in the country and grant incentives to enable them shine and be on par with their contemporaries in the global market.
The organiser of Homex/Managing Director of Atlantic Exhibition Ltd, Mr. Paul Olugbade, also speaking, noted that the Homex exhibition which is targeted at home interiors, interior design, and decorations, had its focus on ensuring that the manufacturers of products are engaged and brought together distributors and local representatives.
